Opti-Win1400

The Opti-Win1400 is a 1.4GB, WORM, optical disk storage solution. The subsystem is available in a single or dual drive configuration, Transparent connectivity to the Silicon Graphics operating system is achieved without the use of software drivers. The optical disk "looks and acts" just like a standard hard disk. Normal operating system commands are all that are required to access the optical media. A non-volatile data cache can reduce access times to less than one millisecond. Lossless data compression ratios of 2:1 to 5:1 increases the amount of data stored, decreasing the cost per megabyte.
